"Spine,
nervous system,
health."

Chiropractic Training.       "He knows what he's doing."
Dr. DeFranca's chiropractic training was at the National College of Chiropractic, Lombard, IL, and he loved every minute of it. His training was second to none with extremely well qualified DC's, MD's, and PhD's being on staff. He interned at one of the world's only 48 bed chiropractic hospital located on campus. Dr. DeFranca attained a skill and knowledge that enabled him to help sick and hurting people using evidenced-based strategies. His training has not only given him a level of confidence needed for clinical practice, but it has further ingrained in him the power of chiropractic as a healing art.

Postgraduate Training      "Trained by the best."
Dr. DeFranca has had the distinct opportunity to train under many world renowned leaders in the fields of chiropractic, manual therapy, and medicine. He has put in thousands of hours of post-graduate training involving several areas of expertise.

Teaching     "Renowned expert in his field."
He himself has become an internationally renowned person in his field, being a clinician, author, teacher, and lecturer.  He has lectured on a variety of topics dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of spine and extremity related locomotor dysfunction and rehabilitation of the locomotor system. As a postgraduate instructor, he taught for five chiropractic colleges/universities. He was also an adjunct clinical professor for the University of Bridgeport Chiropractic College where he taught manipulative techniques using both lecture and laboratory formats.

Publications     "Author, writer, contributor."
A life-long student of chiropractic, Dr. DeFranca has made significant contributions to the chiropractic profession. He has had several papers published in peer-reviewed journals and has authored a text entitled Pelvic Locomotor Dysfunction: a Clinical Approach. In addition, he has written chapters about the evaluation and manipulation of the spine as a contributing author in edited texts. Because of his clinical experience, expertise in manual methods, his writings, and his teachings, he has established himself as an authority in his field worldwide, and as such, has earned the respect of his colleagues nationally.

Clinical Practice      "I love what I do!"
Dr. DeFranca has been in private practice since 1982 and since then has given over 150,000 treatment sessions to his credit. Because of his experience and reputation, he is a very sought after chiropractic physician. He is constantly striving to be the best he can be and adheres to a strong service ethic towards his patients. He practices a very "hands-on" approach and uses evidenced-based techniques that are both safe and effective.
His approach to patient assessment is functional and holistic, stressing proper locomotor and neurologic function and rehabilitation through exercise and self-care.
Dr. DeFranca practices what he preaches, loves what he does, enjoys sharing what he knows with others, and has fun working with his patients. Patients say that it becomes quickly apparent that he is truly interested in helping others, not just with their pain, but all aspects of their health.

"I feel that a patient's health is affected by many diverse factors including diet, exercise, stress, posture, good physical conditioning, and a happy, healthy outlook on life.  Attending to the mind, body, and spirit as an integrated whole rather than isolated entities is paramount for optimal healing to occur.  As a chiropractic physician I feel that good spine function is a prerequisite to normal nervous system function, which in turn will favorably affect a person's health.  Our treatment goals are simple:  1, decrease pain initially; 2, establish better joint and muscle function while addressing postural issues, especially as it relates to the spine;  3, teach our patients about exercise and self-care methods; and 4, recommend preventive measures to aid in continued good function."
